When dementia or Alzheimer's strikes, the loss of not just memory, but a sense of one's self, is cruel to the sufferer and devastating to loved ones.

For almost three decades, Park Slope's NY Memory Center has fought to delay the progress of the disease, using the arts to help patients stay as independent as possible.
